2022 was my first fully active year on Newgrounds as a content creator and what a year it has been.
Starting it off with the conclusion of the 2021 TANKmass Advent organised by @SplatterDash.
My piece was my first attempt at digitally painting something so massive, it inspired me to give this style of drawing a push in the coming year. In January 2022 I received my first front page spot with my reimagining of Johnny Utah’s Tankman characters, drawing them as if they where from a 1980’s American action hero movie.
April 1st I decided to jump on the Dankman NFT prank started by @TomFulp and painted Hostile Takeover, my second biggest painting since Tankmas 21. Later that month I joined @Sevi Toonarmi Collab. Where I had the privilege to meet and work with a lot of talented animators and story writers, I worked personally with @RGPAnims aiding him with the explosive scene on his “The Powerpuff Girls” animation. My piece “CardCaptors” which was the first animation to be fully created in Clip Studio Pro went on to receive daily fourth.
I worked as a executive producer on @MewxProductions Artic Penguin and animated @chutneyglaze getting flattened by a kart In the summer I was eagerly awaiting the big Summer Jam events normally hosted by Brandy, after enjoying the previous years Never-Ending Dance Party (still love that song). However sadly it wasn’t heald this year and in it’s place with the Summer Lovin Loop. Juggling 3 animated projects and a Masters final piece I cranked out a satiric take on the contests requirements.
This along side the Toonami collab was showcased at my Master’s Exhibition show. Where it was viewed by some major players in the UK’s media industry. Jackie Edwards of the British Films Institute and Sarah Ann Kennedy, voice actor on Pepper Pig and connected to the BBC and Channel 4 (UK).
In the fall I graduated my masters with a distinction, and illustrated a clean character sheet of my Demon Hunter character (I will bring his story to NG at some point I promise)
In November @BrandyBuizel approached me to take part in the 2022 TANKmas Advent, where after a year I painted Christmas at the peaks.
I also created a little secret santa for one of my Scouts @SnoopierKid, earning my final front page of 2022.
Overall its been a good year on Newgrounds, but what is to come in 2023?
I’m working on a Newgrounds focused animation, I hope to have completed in the first quarter of 2023,
I also would like to begin the preparation for a big Newgrounds animated collab based around a popular entertainment medium.
